I’ve had to disable the tcpreplay and cabernet trac sites for a few days due to an incompatibility with Trac and Python 2.5 which was crashing Apache and taking all my sites down. Probably will be a few days before I get a chance to hack up a fix.

Yep, 3.2.5 is ready to go. Fixes compiling issues under Solaris with the Sun Studio compiler as well as numerous Linux distributions which no longer ship static libraries. Download it here.

Well this weekend was full of football and since my 49ers are out of the running (and likely for next year as well) I’ve regressed into a Packer fan. Hard not to with Brett Favre running the show. Not a big release, but it does fix a bug preventing Debian from picking up the latest code and also takes advantage of a bug fix introduced in OS X Leopard. Basically, under OS X prior to 10.5, you could not forge the source MAC address AND send a full sized ethernet frame. There was a bug which limited you to 1486 instead of 1500 bytes.
UPDATE: Crap, major bug in 3.2.2 breaks Linux and all other platforms which don’t have BPF devices. 3.2.3 will be available soon.
I’m happy to announce the immediate release of tcpreplay 3.2.1. This release fixes a number of end-user reported performance, stability and data corruption issues and all users are strongly suggested to upgrade. Continue reading
I’m officially killing flowreplay as a future feature of tcpreplay. After giving more thought to this problem and where protocols and applications are going, it’s become clear to me that the goals of flowreplay are unobtainable.
